Welcome to The Mill Inn - Restaurant in Coulter, Lanarkshire

About Coulter Mill

A Short History

With low wooden beams, picturesque surroundings and a touch of history is your idea of an ideal setting then we offer you no better place to visit than The Mill Inn, Coulter. With our location in the South Lanarkshire countryside, Coulter Heritage village is excellently located for most urban areas.

Steeped in local history the Mill was not only for grain but also a saw mill and a stone gargoyle is the only remaining part of the original building from the 12th century.

We are a friendly family run village restaurant pub serving baguettes, sandwiches, high teas and tasty starters such as local specialities Morag Dubh, goats cheese tart and homemade chicken liver pate. Mains:- chicken with haggis and our famous fillet Jacobean, vegetarian dishes:- 5 bean chilli, risotto and macaroni cheese right through to our sumptuous steaks and seasonal dishes which include pheasant, partridge and venison.

Our location is perfect for any function. When weather is suitable you can enjoy a meal and drink in our beer garden. We host small weddings, christenings, birthdays, children’s parties, funerals and family functions. We can cater for any budget, simply give us a call to discuss your requirements. We welcome children of all ages and are dog friendly too. We also have ample parking and a disabled entrance at the rear of the building. There is also another tangible link to the past, yes, we have our very own ghost. On November 1923, Robert Forrest the miller, died alone in the top room of the Mill when an accident caused his death.

The mill Inn is open Mon-Sat from 11.00am Sun 12.00 serving food throughout the day.
